The Hobart Town (1804) First Settlers Association was founded on 6 March 1974 after a dinner in February of that year to commemorate and promise interest in the first and early settlers of Hobart and to facilitate contact between their descendants.

Not only does the Association aim to foster and promote awareness of Hobart's historical heritage, but also to encourage members in the research, collection and writing of their family historical background, so preserving material of all types relating to the first and early settlers of Hobart.

If you are interested in joining the Hobart Town (1804) First Settlers Association we suggest you review our Member Types to see which Class of Membership suits you. Our meeting schedule is also avalable online as an events calendar.

We would also like to hear from you if would like to have a story for placement in our Newsletter. Please send your submissions to the Association using the details recorded on the Contact page. We would prefer that the submission be on a disc, or if in hard copy, single spacing please, except between paragraphs. Once we have the website well established we anticipate making the newsletter available electronically so it will assist us if we don't have to retype your content, and there's less chance of errors that way as well.
